What is surrogate tapping

Surrogate tapping or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), typically refers to a technique used in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or tapping therapy, where one person taps on themselves on behalf of another. It’s based on the idea that the energy system in the body can be influenced by tapping on specific meridian points to address emotional or physical issues. Surrogate tapping allows someone to tap for another person who may be unable or unwilling to do the tapping themselves.

How can parents and caregivers can surrogate tap for children

There are two ways to do surrogate tapping with children and both are beneficial. We can surrogate tap when a child is present with us. Or we can remotely tap for a child when they are not present with us. Either way we are holding the intention that the tapping we are doing (on ourselves) is for the person we are holding within our intention (the child).

We can also teach children how to tap. We cover that in another programme.

The benefits of surrogate tapping for children

Tapping, or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), is believed to offer several potential benefits for both parents, care givers and children. These may include stress reduction, improved emotional well-being, and enhanced coping mechanisms. Tapping can be a tool for managing anxiety, promoting relaxation, and fostering better communication within families. However, individual responses may vary, and it’s important to approach tapping with an open mind.
